1989 - 84m.

Two New York college students head down South to visit their friend at a poor colony of vegetable pickers and along with pretty young Gina Gershon (years before becoming known with Showgirls) and the workers have to take on a evil machete-wielding voodoo priest who's killing people in order to make a zombie from sewn together body parts.

Watchable and enjoyable stuff despite its muddled plot this has enough nifty sequences (that include the opening scene and zombie-killing finale) and decent direction to rise above its average script.

Also has the added bonus of having Tony Todd (known to genre fans as the star of Candyman) giving a menacing performance as the killer. Co-written by NOTLD co-scripter John Russo.

Directed By: Steven Fierberg.
