It's Outbreak meets a killer snake movie as a small town falls victim to a strain of the ebola virus that originated in some rattlesnakes that have escaped from a government lab. It's up to doctors Treat Williams and Mary Page Keller to try and find a cure while the Army quarantines the town (they have underhanded motives) and the snakes continue to bite people.
This competently made low-budget horror/thriller from always busy B-director Fred Olen Ray (directing under the name Ed Raymond here) is for the most part watchable but soon stumbles and falls victim to silliness in the last third making it a somewhat passable time that almost received a * 1/2 rating.
This certainly feels like a TV movie and there's not enough horror elements for fans and not nearly enough suspense for thriller fans; plus the snakes look pretty cheesy at times (they have to contend however with the groanable "hellicopter/bazooka" moment).
Filled with plot holes (like why they don't either catch or wipeout the snakes if they know they are the source of the virus) and so-so acting this is bearable if nothing special.
