1997 - 108m.

After his crew of vampire eliminators are slaughtered, Vatican hired hunter Jack Crow (James Woods) and partner Montoya (Daniel Baldwin) set-out after old-time vamp Valek (Thomas Ian Griffith) who wants to get hold of a cross that will enable him to walk in the daytime.

Failed effort from director John Carpenter has a good central idea but can't pull it off due to a script that goes nowhere fast and piles on feeble attempts at humour, overdone violence and a big slice of misogyny.

Woods does seem suited to his role but even he can't do a thing with this. Some okay gore if that means anything. Another misfire from Carpenter. Held from release for at least six months.

Followed by Vampires:Los Muertos. (Chris Hartley)

Directed By: John Carpenter.
Written By: Don Jakoby.

Starring: James Woods, Daniel Baldwin, Thomas Ian Griffith, Sheryl Lee.
