2001 - 90m.

Starting with a prelude that tells us of an ancient crab-like monster that can cloak itself this soon throws out its standard set-up that has a treasure hunting anthropolgy professor, his two "hoods", a native guide and a innocent student (who thought it was a extra credit deal) searching for a cave that contains treasure only for the monster to get loose from the said cave and begin picking them off.

It's sad to say that the coolest thing about this movie is the box. It's not that it's directed poorly it's just that the script is crappy, it's boring and in the end is quite a miserable time.

Throw in some really bad CGI effects, an obviously fake cave set and the weak acting (though Cindy Pena fares best as the guide) and you have a low-grade monster movie indeed.

Groanable stuff but at least B-movie favourite Tim Thomerson shows-up in a small role and the scenes where they're trapped in a van actually aren't that bad.
