1997 - 99m.
TV

Second filming of Stephen King's short story (the original being King's only directing effort 1986's Maximum Overdrive) has Timothy Busfield and a group of people in a small desert town just outside of Area 51 being menaced and trapped in a restaurant by some trucks that have come to life and aren't very nice.

Medicore telefilm has some decent scattered moments (such as the mailman's murder by the remote controlled dumptruck) but shows its obvious TV roots production wise due to the barely average acting and somewhat tedious pace.

King's version of his story may have been dumb but it packed in a lot more entertainment than this passable fare that has too many poor attempts at humour (how did that Hippie character get to live so long while spouting his lame dialogue?).

Made for cable.

Directed By: Chris Thomson.
