Another horror flick that boasts "Wes Craven Presents" above the title that could have benefited from the horror maestro's input (he doesn't even get an executive producer credit here).
Laura Regan stars here as a twenty-four-year-old college student who is pulled into a world of hallucinations, horror and really nasty monsters when one of her close childhood friends calls her to warn her of "they" before committing suicide right in front of her. Turns out "they" are actually other dimensional creatures who mark children during their nightmares and return when they're all grown-up to feed.
The atmosphere director Robert Harmon has brought to this seems about right, the finale is pretty decent (especially the ending) and the creatures are pretty cool (even though we're never given a clear look at them); but it suffers from just being too dull and having a script that could have used a bit more clarity.
Throw in the fact this just isn't entertaining and the acting (apart from Regan who's pretty good) is so-so (Dagmara Dominczyk stinks up the screen with her zombie-like performance as Terry) and you have this mostly passable effort.
