1987 - 94m.

Less successful teen idol Jason Bateman (of sitcom, The Hogan Family, and brother to Justine) takes over for Michael J. Fox in this junky sequel playing the cousin of the original Teen Wolf who ends-up at Hamilton University on a boxing scholarship (despite wanting to study science). Soon he finds out he also has the werewolf genes and uses his newfound powers to his advantage in the ring, with the girls and with his grades (with a little "help" fixing them by dean John Astin).

This brings back a handful of the supporting cast from the original and while this familiarity was supposed to help the film (and it mildly does) it can't save it from being a totally disposable follow-up that piles on poor slapstick moments (witness the entire "first transformation" sequence at a dance for proof), has a unlikeable lead (who's a complete jerk-off for almost the entire film; not a fault of the bland Bateman, but of the poor script) and comes up with lots of groanable moments (like the werewolf boxing scenes and a completely pointless song and dance number).

Astin manages to add a miniscule amount of class to the proceedings when he is on screen but the first had Fox's alright charisma and was good natured; this doesn't have either.
