Classy sequel to Dracula Has Risen From The Grave and Hammer Films' fifth entry in the series; this has three high-standing married men out for lurid thrills joining-up with a local occultist. They set out to contact the evil Dracula (played yet again by the compelling Christopher Lee) using artifacts they've gotten from a travelling businessman that includes the fanged one's cape, necklace and a vial of his blood. But when the plan backfires and their new black magic pal is killed, Dracula returns to get revenge.

Well done sequel has oodles of good atmosphere and an intriguing script that holds your interest. While, like usual, Lee doesn't show-up until about halfway in but he shows a great presence here (which seemed lacking from the earlier Dracula:Prince Of Darkness) and he's given way more to do.

One of the best of the series with the best moment being when a vampirized girl stakes her father who moments earlier couldn't bring himself to do it to her.

Followed by Scars Of Dracula.

Directed By: Peter Sasdy.
Written By: John Elder (Anthony Hinds).
