Western/horror amalagam has an intriguing enough idea but is given tedious execution in this tale of a town inhabited by vampires that can now take the sun with the help of a special sunblock and don't bite humans since they got a new synthetic blood. However some of the vamp folks in Purgatory aren't too happy with the scheme of things leading to the vampire warring finale.
Usually co-writer/director Hickox gives horror fans entertaining product but this time he offers up a fairly weak entry which mind you does have a couple of inspired moments including the gas station part near the start and a creative use of an umbrella. There's also some bright spots in the cast with Bruce Campbell, David Carradine, Deborah Foreman and M. Emmet Walsh all turning in decent (and somewhat campy) turns. But (yes there's a but in among all the lukewarm praise) as I said this is pretty dull and overlong and the entire human family (parents and two little girls) are quite badly acted and annoying.
Skip it.
