Early Full Moon effort has a pretty decent set-up as Government investigator David Beecroft is sent to a underground desert lab to look into some experiments involving a second "dream dimension" only for the scientists in charge (James Wong, Louise Fletcher and Shawn Weatherly) to accidently unleash a shapeshifting creature that proceeds to pick them off one-by-one.
Steadily made and acted B-movie has a somewhat smart script and slings a bit of gore but we never feel that it's anything more than standard "monster movie" fare while watching it.
Fletcher is quite good as the chapstick obssessed scientist and the movie is watchable despite some so-so creature effects and a finale that kind of fizzles.
