2000 - 106m.

Coming out the same year as fellow misfire Mission To Mars, this sci-fi with horror elements has a crew of American astronauts (that includes Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore) in the year 2057 heading-off to Mars to investigate why their attempts at creating oxygen on the surface are failing only to get trapped on the planet where they have to deal with a robot that's short circuiting and some nasty fire bug creatures.

With an okay cast and some decent effects (especially the little nastiness involving the fire bugs); this is a bearable time that when it's not playing like a disaster movie set in space is completely failing to rise above standard due to the thin and lacking story and a letdown of an ending.

The robot "AMEE" is complete kick-ass and a mean killing machine, but that's not enough. Carrie-Anne Moss is wasted in her role.
