2002 - 124m.

Prequel to Silence Of The Lambs based on Thomas Harris' novel (which was filmed before in 1986 by Michael Mann as Manhunter) this has Edward Norton as a former FBI agent who retired after bringing in Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter (a returning Anthony Hopkins; who brings lots of good, morbid humour to his character) only to have to ask his former nemesis for help when he's recruited to go after a serial killer who's dubbed "The Tooth Fairy" (played alright by Ralph Fiennes) by the press.

Written smartly by returning scribe Ted Tally (who did the screenplay for Silence) this has lots of okay thrills and a good twist ending with Norton steady in the lead role and a mostly engrossing storyline.

Satsifying and much better than the needlessly gory Hannibal, this is a nice end of the series and recommended viewing.

Not as good as Silence, but an above average horror-thriller nonetheless.
