2000 - 100m.

It's trouble for a small town when a Military plane with a deadly giant python on board as cargo crash lands. Soon this gigantic (and I mean gigantic) snake is picking off the cast of familiar faces as snake expert Robert Englund and big game hunter Casper Van Dien are brought in to try and stop it.

Unlike most of the "giant animal" movies that seem to be glutting the horror market in the last three years (most of them from Nu Image - blah) this one is actually pretty entertaining with a script that shows an okay sense of humour, adequate CGI effects (though some melding shots are weak) and a great cast of character actors.

Sure the whole thing's a bit silly and it seems to be lacking a real "hero" but it's pretty fun until the fairly sloppy last third.

Van Dien has one lousy accent here but that's okay as Scott Williamson almost steals the show as a smarmy realtor and Sean Whalen (familiar to horror fans from The People Under The Stairs) gives okay comic relief as a deputy. Be sure to check out the "towel that never falls off!) during the decent "shower" sequence.

Followed by a sequel.
