From the ashes of Charles Band’s Empire Pictures emerged Full Moon Productions of which this is their first film.
This tells of a group of psychics (led by lion-maned Paul Le Mat) summoned to the Bodega Bay hotel by one of their associates only to be attacked by a group of puppets who have been brought to life by an ancient ritual.
While the psychic angle is a bit wonky and this low-budgeter is a little slow to get rolling it’s main drawing card (the puppets) certainly don’t disappoint. Director Schmoeller handles it all fine (he even opens the film with a well-done POV sequence) and the acting is okay on a B-movie level (though Irene Miracle’s character is annoying - but gets a good send-off) to make this a mostly enjoyable debut by Full Moon that only promises more genre friendly fare.
Followed by eight sequels.

DVD INFORMATION
Picture Ratio: Full Frame (despite the box saying its in Widescreen).
Picture Quality: Hasn't looked better, but not a high quality image like the big studios usually turn out.
Extras: There's the short "No Strings Attached" making-of that was included on the video version as well as a rotten looking trailer, weak bios (that even mistakes using Miracle’s picture for Barbara Crampton’s bio) and a cool 86 minute long 45 trailer reel on the flipside of the disc.
