Much slammed sequel to the Stephen King original isn't quite as "horror" as the first as much of the movie seems to be played for camp but it manages to be mildly entertaining.
Edward Furlong and veterinarian dad Anthony Edwards move to Ludlow, Maine after their actress mom/wife dies in an accident and soon Furlong finds himself all caught-up with the nearby Indian burial ground. Soon pets, asshole sheriff Clancy Brown (a B-movie favourite of mine who steals the show here) and others are coming back from the dead changed and with quite a violent streak.
This is an unneeded sequel for sure but really I don't think it deserves all the flack it has gotten. Many critics have called it mean-spirited (and I suppose it is a little bit, but come on it's a horror movie!), it is pretty heavy on "animal violence" (a rabbit has its neck snapped and is skinned for all to see) for a Hollywood movie and the finish is sloppy and quite dumb; but it's not the worst sequel ever made and some of the gore effects are pretty decent.
