EI Cinema has done it yet again. They've gone and exhumed an old film by sleazy drive-in auteur Al Adamson and given it nothing short of a special edition release.
Under their Retro Shock-O-Rama label they've released this exploitationer that has Jill Jacobson as a normal enough nurse (who works in what has to be the most bare hospital in history sporting only three nurses, two doctors and two paitents!) who is possessed by the spirit of a dying cult leader.
Being that this is a horror flick you can only guess what the cult leader controls her body to do. That's right, the old stand-by of getting revenge on those our supernatural freak thinks is responsible for his death. This leads to a small amount of gore deaths (the best involving a pitchfork), lots of babbling about the unexplained and a really cheesy voodoo/football player sub-plot.
Budgeted on a shoe-string and with a muddled and muddy plot at best; this isn't a very good movie but for fans of cheese cinema it's definitely worth their time.
Where else can you revel in bad 70's decors and fashions while chuckling at a really badly done possession scene (all flashing lights and green scribbles) and a really poor attempt at staging a car chase.
The acting surprisingly isn't that bad and there is one okay "jump" shock moment; but take this for what it is - a low-brow and tedious Al Adamson movie.

DVD INFORMATION
Picture Ratio: Full Frame.
Picture Quality: Considering its budget and the age of the film pretty darn good, there's some grain but that's to be expected.
Extras: We get a rare theatrical trailer (it's quite a riot), television spot and (best of all) a commentary by producer Sam Sherman which seems a little "wandering" at times but manages to be informative enough for all B-movie fans to give a listen.
Perhaps the best extra here is a "never before seen" alternate cut that runs at 84 minutes and contains a bunch more skin that the theatrical version.
