Minor Hammer Films entry is one of their few attempts at psychological horror as nightmare plagued school girl Jennie Linden goes to stay at the house of her guardian (David Knight) and is slowly driven mad by visions (which lead to murder). It's then that the plot focus shifts to Knight and new bride Moira Redmond (both of which plotted to get Linden framed for murdering Knight's wife) as Redmond is slowly driven crazy by who she thinks is an escaped Linden.
This starts with a moody opening sequence and plays dramatically sound (even if the drama on hand is mostly melodramatic) but a slower pace, talky script and a bit of overacting by the two leads (which gets cloying at times) makes this a so-so effort mostly only for fans of the studio.
Linden certainly looks older than a school girl and she certainly has the screaming pipes - it's just too bad she's a weak actress.
