1993 - 84m.

Friday The 13th director Sean S. Cunningham produces a teen zombie comedy that has Andrew Lowery playing a somewhat geeky high schooler who is trying to impress his dream girl Traci Lind. After he's killed trying to protect her from a robber he comes back as a zombie to continue his quest.

Morbid black comedy is filled with a good cast of character actors, plenty of amusing moments involving the main character being dead (such as parts of his body falling off), a few amusing "sex fantasy" scenes, fairly cool "comic book" scene breaks and a director in Bob Balaban who's suited for the material (he directed the also off-beat Parents).

This is lots of fun with Mary Beth Hurt a riot as his mom (who's kidnapping people and stashing them away so her "baby boy" can "eat") and the amusing fact that everyone is just so calm about the fact a zombie is living amongst them. Blink and you'll miss Matthew McConaughey in a tiny role.

Directed By: Bob Balaban.
Written By: Dean Lorey.

Starring: Andrew Lowery, Traci Lind, Danny Zorn, Bob Dishy.
