2002 - 98m.

In the near future humankind has been forced to go into hiding when the vampire race takes over the Earth and it's up to Father Joe (a long-haired alcoholic "priest" played ineffectively by Douglas Gibson) to help his former parishiners to take on a cult of vampires who are preying on townsfolk.

After the effective "news footage" opening that sets a decent doomsday tone this quickly falls apart thanks to it's below average acting (especially female lead Pamela Karp who's completely unlikeable), a script (co-written by best-selling novelist F. Paul Wilson based on his novella) that seems to be making minimal effort at character development and cohesive storytelling; and absolutely no suspense. In fact the whole movie is just ho-hum, lukewarm and feels uninspired right from the people making it down to us, the viewer.

Sure, the premise might be alright but the movie attached to it a horribly done effort that is relatively bloodless, much too talky and made with minimal effort. Throw in a pathetic final vampire battle, a laughable moment where one vamp is dumb enough to stake himself on a tree branch and the fact that if these vamps are supposed to rule the World why is there barely any of them and you have one of the worst horror films of the year.
