2000 - 90m.

Talk about beating a one-joke concept to death.

Back for his fifth go-around is that leprechaun with a temper (the ever so patient Warwick Davis) and this time he's "straight outta Compton" as he has to take on gangsta Ice-T and some wannabe rappers in the 'hood after his magic flute is stolen.

Admittedly the opening scenes have promise (with Ice-T in afro/disco style pulling a baseball bat out of his hairdo) but it soon turns too stupid for its own good with plenty of attempts at in-jokes and mayhem that just doesn't do it.

Like all movies in this series, it does have its moments (like when our leprechaun buddy tokes it up and when a Chinese storekeeper shows his dance style) it's just woefully unnecessary. Even steals a joke from Bride Of Chucky (the characters check out a "Leprechauns For Dummies" book).

Unless you really must complete the series, or you really want to see the leprechaun rap at the end; then you can easily miss this.

Let it be over - please.
