2001 - 87m.

Jeepers Creepers...can't believe my peepers...Jeepers Creepers...what a piece of trash.

Some of us remember a darn good 1988 movie called Clownhouse, some for reasons that don't surround the movie (more on that in that films review). Well, writer/director Salva (who did that movie) returns to horror territory with this big nothing of a flick that has brother/sister team Gina Philips and Justin Long on their way home from college for the holidays having to take-on a unstoppable killer they witnessed dumping bodies into a sewer pipe. Of course the killer isn't quite what he seems - but by the time we find out we really couldn't care.

Salva flubs-up majorly here coming up with an insect/slasher demon only to surround it with a piss-poor and senseless script. The lead characters are very stupid (they get chased off the road and almost killed but decide to go back - and speaking of the chase scene, I doubt the killer would not come back if they just pulled into a field like they do), there's plenty of sloppy dialogue (wannabe "hip" at times), there's no suspense, very little gore and a script that just gets shittier as it goes along (sniffing laundry? Come on!).

Even the "surprise" ending is easy to call.

A dead void of a movie and possibly the first time in years I've been to a theatre and felt totally ripped-off (heck, I didn't even feel this ripped-off when I saw the almost as lame Planet Of The Apes remake!). The worst big-studio horror film of 2001 - bar none.

Followed by a sequel.
