1998 - 117m.

This movie kicked my ass. Director/writer Eric Stanze has created what could only be termed as one of the more fiercely original and compelling independent movies of the last five years at least.

This tells of a being called "The Presence" an evil being who wants to rule mortal Earth and enjoys pulling humans into his alternate universe and torturing them with their fears. But he's got an enemy in Ramona Midgett; a woman who's recruited right after slitting her wrists by angels to go in and stop him.

Kinetically shot stuff from Wicked Pixel has visuals that use great sound editing and shot layouts that only enhance the eerieness, intense, strange and sometimes unnerving moments scattered throughout this grim ride.

Sure about halfway in you may feel a little disembodied due to a few muddled moments; but they really don't matter when there's such a Hell of a premise that's both ambitious, compelling and (as said before) very off-beat.

Intelligent and above average with Stanze delivering on the promise shown in his earlier Savage Harvest. Try not to squirm when one girl is dragged behind a truck naked on a rope and salt is thrown on her wounds and in the whole operating room sequence. DJ Vivona kicks major ass as "The Presence".

Get this, get this now.
