Showtime remake of the sleazy 1980 original has fisherman Robert Carradine and scientist Emma Samms having to take-on some mutated prison convicts who've been spliced with the genes of salmon and want to breed with all the towns women.
While this starts off okay and has better production values than the original it suffers badly because it takes itself way too seriously when it could've used a lighter, more campy approach.
Quite gory and it recreates some of the best known scenes from the earlier version, but it's just as useless. See if you can figure out why our "heroes" are romping around at a carnival fun house and are completely oblivious to the carnage going on outside.
Made for cable.
