Starting its life titled Fear.com, this Full Moon/Tempe production has a "hip" goth-loving webmaster called Dez (Jake Leonard) stumbling upon the title website and having to battle a bunch of cybernetic creatures (with the help of "oh so cool" James Black) when his boss and girlfriend are sucked into the mainframe.
Completely mediocre stuff that's plot is so muddled that you get the feeling they were trying to cram too much into the slim 72 minute running time. And while this has a bunch of flaws (which we'll get to in a minute), it's not all for naught because debuting director Draven certainly does try, the effects (apart from the jerky robotic catepillar creatures) are adequate and it's always nice to see Brinke Stevens.
Now onto the flaws: the scripting is thin (Leonard and Maggie Rose Fleck's relationship always feels jokey and implausible - despite the cheesy flashback montage later on), the film feels padded with scenes of characters driving along, Leonard's character likes to scream loudly and fly off the handle a bit too easily and the pay-off is nothing but unimpressive (in fact, big baddie Manifesto is sorta lame). And this even feels like a running ad for Ward Boult Photography at times.
This skippable effort proves that even if you have a packed DVD package (this Lunar Edition has a lot of extra content) it can't make up for the movie being not that great.
