Similar to the same year's Shocker this is just a run-of-the-mill slasher flick with supernatural elements as cop Lance Henriksen goes to watch the execution of the serial killer he captured (played with aplomb by B-movie favourite Brion James) only for said killer to come back as a murderous ghost who proceeds to give him nasty visions and knock-off anyone who gets in the way of his revenge.
Marketed as the third House movie in some areas (when really the only similarity it has to the series is producer Sean S. Cunningham) this shows some good mood in early dream sequences and has two good genre leads (despite the fact Henriksen's character is unlikeable for a good portion of the movie) but overall this is a mediocre effort that suffers from a really dumb script (that has poor logic), lots of weak Nightmare On Elm Street inspired nightmare sequences (including the unintentionally hilarious "possessed turkey" moment) and a sloppy finale. Though it could've turned out a lot worse.
Director James Isaac went on to direct Jason X for Cunningham.
