Classic supernatural horror based on Shirley Jackson's The Haunting Of Hill House has a paranormal investigator gathering a group of people to stay at a supposedly haunted house only for everyone to fall victim to some restless spirits. Most affected by it is meek Julie Harris who falls heavily under the influence of the house.

Packed with spooky ambience this intelligent and well-crafted film relies more on understated chills and sound instead of special effects. Never once do you see the ghosts which just adds to the mood.
