2005 - 7m.

The title, Fork In The Road, relates to our main character's dilemma of whether or not he wants to go onto a career of serial killing after successfully murdering his first three victims.

The decision becomes a little bit easier for him though when the spirits of the people he's killed come back to give him a little pep talk (one of them proclaims how the way he was murdered was not only genius, but also very "wrestling" in style - which gave me a good chuckle) and set him on his path to mass murder.

Done with a black comedy tone, this short film from Elswarro productions is a morbid, completely satirical effort that manages in its seven minute running time to have some alright death scenes (which are shot in a shaky, washed-out looking way that works quite well), a few moments of humour (so he lured them in with an Amway pyramid scheme did he?), an underused and repetitive music score I dug, and some jabs at America and how media makes celebrities out of criminals that seem mildly out-of-place. But it gets its point across, is decently made, and is a good early effort from writer-director Jason Swarr.

Next month (April, 2005) Elswarro is going to begin production on a sequel to this (it will be a short again) and it will be interesting to see where they take it.
