1990 - 95m.

Watchable low-budget take-off on Psycho stars Karen Black as the owner of a boarding house who hears the voice of her dead husband telling her to kill her residents in order to cash their government cheques.

Any movie that opens with a knife in the eye can't be that bad (okay, maybe it could); but this odd outing actually is pretty entertaining even if the pacing isn't so great.

It probably works okay thanks to a completely unserious tone and a cast filled with veteran character actors even if there's some almost laughable moments and the attempts at comedy are mostly hit-or-miss.

If you don't expect much and can handle a couple of moments of low-grade gore, then you might actually have fun with this.
