1997 - 96m.

Stylishly made horror/sci-fi has scientist Sam Neill, rescue spaceship captain Laurence Fishburne and crew going on a mission to salvage top-secret ship the "Event Horizon" which has been floating in space for the last seven years. Only it seems the ship has a dark secret and is being controlled by an even darker malicious spirit.

Director Anderson keeps this one moving and after a slow start it becomes one of the best fright flicks of the year which is thanks to an interesting enough script, a strong cast and some killer sequences and effects.

A lot of subtle religious-themed images pop-up such as a cross shaped window (which is used for a cruicifiction-like scene) and a coffin shaped doorway.

An effective film that gets a little silly near the end but is an entertaining time.
