Third entry in the Hammer series (after what some consider to be a non-sequel, Brides Of Dracula) has Christopher Lee back as the title bloodsucker who is ressurected from the dead by his faithful servant to feed on the two couples who have ended-up at his castle.

Melodramatic and a tad dull; this starts off with a flashback to the original Horror Of Dracula and gives us our only glimpse of Lee until he shows-up halfway in. Unfortunately, though, Lee is in it very little and when he is he's extremely poor (and doesn't say a thing as far as I could tell).

The script hits all the vampire movie conventions right on the head (the sunlight, staking, inviting in and water streams are covered) but is only a so-so entry with a little bit of good mood and a cool scene where dracula is brought back, but not much else.

Available in a widescreen collectors edition from Anchor Bay.

Followed by Dracula Has Risen From The Grave.

Directed By: Terence Fisher.
Written By: John Sansom.

Starring: Christopher Lee, Barbara Shelley, Andrew Keir, Francis Matthews.
