1998 - 106m.

Formulaic but generally enjoyable big-budget monster movie has boat captain Treat Williams, his crew and a group of hard-ass soldier types ending up on a crashed ocean cruiser and being attacked by the mysterious worm-like sea creatures that eliminated and sucked the fluids out of most of the passengers.

Fitfully entertaining and with some decent (if unspectacular) effects, this is an alright time that's relatively well done despite being a little derrative (mostly of Aliens and The Poseidon Adventure). The cast does alright with Williams making an okay hero and Kevin J. O'Connor although at first amusing comic relief gets to be a tad annoying due to writer/director Sommers giving him way too many one-liners and making his character into somewhat of a moron.

When I was walking out of the theatre after seeing this I said to my friend it was "like The Love Boat on speed", and that's a pretty good comparison in a way.
