Arizona's "The Domino Theatre" are behind this mixing of sorcery and the Civil War as we're told of five modern day practising magicians who bring back a nutso cavalry general (played much to hammily by Jack Dunlap - who laughs manically for most of the film) who proceeds to take revenge on the relatives of the people who hung him in 1875.
Even though the Civil War flashbacks peppered throughout this are done fairly well and feel mostly geninue it's the modern day sections that drag this down. It's hard to feel any sort of suspense when our killer is strolling around surrounded in an odd red mist cutting people up with a cutlass, laughing heartily and slaying mostly undressed females. Plus the whole thing feels a bit too "soap opera" for my liking despite being competently acted by the amateur cast (Danielle Frone is definitely nice to look at in her low-cut dress and later on when she spends a good portion of time nude).
There's only a handful of Civil War horror films in existence and while this isn't the worst of them (that honour would belong to Curse Of The Cannibal Confederates) it doesn't make a strong case for more of them to be made.
