2000 - 82m.
Australia

Satisfying and highly watchable slasher import opens with an amusing movie-in-a-movie opening that gives us back history on the horror film "Hot Blooded" which starred American actress Molly Ringwald but was never finished due to a masked killer.

It's twelve years later and some film students have decided to finish the film. They hire back Ringwald (who's good in her role as the bitchy, neverwas B-movie queen), go to the old locations and start filming anew only for the masked psycho to return and start killing all over again.

With one cool mask on the killer, competent acting and lots of above average death scenes (the bandsaw splatter will make you smile); this is a surprisingly enjoyable and fun time that may throw out an unexpected (and cheesy - though not in a bad way) supernatural angle at the end but gets points for trying something new at least.

The fact that this continually jabs the industry in the ribs and brings up past horror films makes this perfect viewing for the genre fan. Recommended.
