Beginning with a so-so use of flashbacks this second sequel to the cult hit (that was shot back-to-back with the next entry) has the nasty Critters hitching a ride to an urban apartment building and proceeding to cause all sorts of havoc on the tenants.
With a good humourous tone and none-too-serious approach this is a fairly enjoyable and mindless sequel that works better than the entry that followed it thanks mostly to the fact the Critters are mischievous (something part 4 was sadly lacking) and because of its playful tone.
Geoffrey Blake amuses as sarcastic handyman Frank and the series starts the trend of giving early roles to future stars (part four had Angela Bassett) by having a "just hit puberty" Leonardo DiCaprio co-starring. Lots of furball mayhem to please the series fans.
End credits weakly set-up the next entry.
