1990 - 84m.

Inevitable sequel to the surprise hit original brings back Alex Vincent as Andy who is now in a foster home and trying to get over the trauma of the original movie. The only problem is that the toy company, in all their stupidity, have remade the Chucky doll and our murderous "Good Guy" is back on Andy's trail while killing anyone who gets in the way.

Slower starting than the original this is a mostly watchable follow-up that has a few moments of mild suspense but suffers from too jokey a tone (the Chucky character falls into the kill-punchline model of so many slasher movies that came before it) and a pretty so-so finale despite the scenes where Chucky plunks a knife into his stump hand, the "eye machine" moment and Chucky's eventual demise are fairly cool.

Overall this isn't a bad sequel it's just unable to match the tone and entertainment of the original and is close to a ** rating at times.
