You know it's really tiring when people try to recapture their past glories little realizing their part in them may not have been as important as they thought. In this case it's cinematographer Bill Hinzman and producer John A. Russo trying to recapture their Night Of The Living Dead days (Bill was the cemetery zombie and John co-wrote it) by making a truly inane zombie flick that has a small town coming under seige by the flesheaters when a ressurected child murderer called Allister Hayes comes back in zombie form and recruits some teenagers to munch on guts while the locals try to stop them.
When this starts off we get make-up man Tom Savini (who was behind all the cool gore in 80's films such as The Prowler, Dawn Of The Dead and Friday The 13th 4) playing a bad ass zombie killer - and then ten minutes in, he's gone! If they'd of stayed with this character the movie would have rocked for sure. Instead they kill him off and trot out a script that has no real point, lots of dull zombie attacks and plenty of laughable moments (such as when a VW van drives off a cliff).
Acted without flourish and with a main zombie villian who just likes to skulk around in the bushes and snarl; this is one junky zombie "comedy" (called such for having not one iota of seriousness on hand).
One lame-o finale and a really rotten line "avoid contact with their teeth" doesn't help either. Pretty lousy.
