1998 - 42m.

With anticipation I tore open the package from Georgia's Dept. 13 and within found a nice clamshell box containing a movie I'd heard of and was looking forward to seeing. That movie was Chameleon.

Directed and written by Chris Woods it's the ambitious story of a shape-shifting disease-like creature that can absorb people's identities and goes on a semi-rampage while being hunted down by a hired hitman.

Here's a independent effort that leaves a feeling of "could've been" in your head - it's got an original concept, is made competently and has satisfying moments but at the same time it falls victim to budget limitations and some moments of amateurish acting.

However, this is stylishly directed, has above average morphing effects (let's just ignore the weak gore face gouging okay?) and plays fine despite the fact I was asking myself throughout, "where do the bodies go?".

A commendable effort from Woods who I expect can top this in the future.
