2001 - 97m.

Another "urban" horror tale from Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight director Ernest Dickerson this time with rapper Snoop Dogg making his starring debut as Jimmy Bones, a pimp-like nice guy who is gunned down by some wannabe crack dealers in 1979.

Years later when some teenagers try to change his gothic rundown house into a night club, Bones returns from the dead (from ghost, to possessed dog, to unstoppable undead bad-ass) to take revenge on those that killed him years back.

Opening with a decent pre-credits sequence that slings a bunch of bright red blood before dishing out its standard horror movie set-up this is not quite the crappy B-movie I was expecting since it turns out to be a watchable and entertaining effort if you put your brain in check.

Part blaxploitation spoof and part straight horror this has a decent cast (that includes Pam Grier, yay!), some good visual effects (I like seeing Snoop's shadow creeping along the walls) and lots of pleasing grue to make it a better than average timewaster.

The finale is a tad sloppy but overall this is an acceptable ride. The "living wall" is quite cool though the maggot vomitting gets to be a bit much.
