Off-beat crap has Lydie Denier being brought home by rich brat Kevin Hicks. She meets his surgeon dad Jan Rubes and together with the son they plot to off dad and get a huge inheritance. However, this being a horror movie, the plot soon takes a twist and we learn dad and son are quite nutty and quite after Denier's brain. Tedious stuff is definitely bizarre; but is also completely uninteresting, talky and very dry. You know you're in trouble when the movie is almost half-way in and you're still muddy as to the actual "point" of it. It's slim on the horror elements until the last twenty minutes that has Rubes becoming an absolute joker (he shows Denier a frying pan with brains in it and says "isn't that food for thought?") of a psychopath. Even wastes veteran actor Ray Walston in a bit role. Prime your finger over the fast forward button or just don't rent it (the best choice). Directed By: Graeme Campbell. Written By: Stephen Saylor. Starring: Jan Rubes, Lydie Denier, Kevin Hicks, Lynne Adams. |
