1999 - 87m.

One sly mind-f**k as this pseudo-documentary style thriller shows the supposedly discovered films of three college students who disappeared after heading off into the woods in search of a legend involving a witch.

A creeped-out and grimy effort that uses its main theme (that this is real footage) to good advantage with one Hell of a great and somber finale that wrings the tension tighter than tight.

Still while you're watching this you may have a lot of indifferent feelings towards it, be it because of its lack of a steady plot or when certain events don't ring "true", but it's still a darkly spooky tale that doesn't need elaborate effects or non-stop action to work.

Not really for the younger set, who quite frankly might be bored. Pushing a ** 1/2 but only because of some mixed feelings on my part.

Two companion pieces, Curse Of The Blair Witch and Sticks And Stones, are also available on video.

Followed by Book Of Shadows:Blair Witch 2.
