Wesley Snipes is back as half-human, half-vampire bloodsucker exterminator, Blade, who finds himself hired by his enemies to lead a "vampire squad" in order to take out a new breed of vampires dubbed "Reapers" who are immune to silver bullets and garlic (but luckily not sunlight). From there there's plenty of heavily choreographed hyperactive action sequences and mild plot twists to keep you mildly entertained even if this sequel is about as middle of the road as the original was.
Having director Guillermo Del Toro helps as he's quite a visual pro (there's some really striking shots here) and there's some cool effects (I love the splitting face of the "Reapers"); but it seems they've gone and created their own vampire "universe" only I just don't find it that interesting.
Ron Perlman is his usual great self and Kris Kristofferson is steady as Blade's mentor, Whistler; but this has a really weak "love interest" subplot and final "undead wrestling match" that's quite junky. And speaking of junky those CGI "meltdowns" look really poor.
If you liked the original it's more of the same - I myself found it mostly passable.
