1988 - 83m.

A laughably cheesy opening sequence with rubbery masked demons rocking out introduces us to the title band, a junky hair metal group who arrive in the small town of Mill Basin to put on some concerts only to be met with parents who are trying to stop them because they're "evil".

Little did the adults know they really are and out to brainwash all the towns teenagers to be their disciples.

One of a slew of late 80's "heavy metal" themed horror movies and probably the most watchable because it's so entertainly dopey with lots of chintzy effects, decent enough acting (John Martin is good as the teacher hero), a sort of brutal "ashtray" moment, a suprisingly literate script at times and lots of satrical jabs at the PMRC (Tipper Gore's music censorship group).

Check out that junky spider monster and final demon but there's a cool "speaker suck" moment and fairly decent demon transformation/kitchen moment to enjoy. Originally released with one of those "pop-up" video boxes (which was usually used to distract from how bad the movie within was).
