As the last year of the decade, 2009 proved to be a busy year for horror with the comedic, indie, direct-to-dvd sequel, and remake all showing up in high numbers. It showed us that a movie made for barely any cash could become a hit, that sequels and remakes still could make decent cash in their first couple of weeks in theatres despite becoming somewhat tired, and that Diablo Cody (Jennifer's Body) probably didn't deserve that Oscar for Juno.

Without further adieu, read on below to see what we chose of 2009's batch to be our favourites (and not-so favourites) but, keep in mind, there's plenty of films we didn't get the opportunity to watch that could have possibly made the cut and that each list is made up of films we either: a) loved our time with or b) endured.
