Signourney Weaver reprises her role as Ripley (who this time out is a clone) and has to team-up with some travelling bounty hunter/merchants to take on aliens that were bred from the creature she was carrying in her when she died in part three.

Stylishly directed by Frenchman Jeunet (making his big-studio American debut) with strong acting and amazing Alien effects.

Lots of pleasingly gory moments, inventive fight sequences and laughs makes this an entertaining time. Ron Perlman is a riot as the hard-ass.

One Hell of a step-up from the previous part. (Chris Hartley)
